We are Hannibal Cigars born out of Fire and Smoke.

From the Kings of Spain and their ships off Cuba in the 16th century, their quest to plant this formidable Cuban leaf seed on other Spanish mission plantations, leads our connections back to a time before this.  To the time of the original HannibaL, the man, the general, the  warrior;   who  took his army across the Alps through ice and snow to defeat the up till then, invincible Romans.

We at Hannibal Cigars share a common dream with our  namesake, that of daring to dream impossible dreams and making them happen.  We also share this dream with our loyal customers and friends who have supported us over the years since we first started introducing these incredible cigars from our own aged and vintage Havana seedleaf tobacco grown on a forgotten plantation in the middle of the jungle hundreds of miles from anywhere.

In 1994 we first discovered this 'lost' plantation and set about reorganizing it into a plantation that could satisfy the discriminating tastes of the US and Western markets of Europe, Middle East and Far East and Asia. We maintained tradition by retaining all old hand rolling techniques and boxing our cigars in pure mahogany boxes.

By the late mid nineties we had established our headquarters in Beverly Hills California together with a small showcase retail outlet.  From that point the cigar was experienced by a host of aficionados including the legends of TV, Screen and sports super athletes of basketball, golf, and athletics.  Old super legends like Milton Berle and other members of the  club all enjoyed a good smooth Hannibal cigar even the screen tough guys who are now working in higher echelons.

By the beginning of the Third Millennium California had outlawed cigar smoking in hotels, bars,  clubs, and restaurants, even including private parties in private banqueting rooms within the top four and five star hotels in and around Beverly Hills and Hollywood. By 2002 our original distribution  in California had closed and is now handled worldwide by our own Smoking Elephant here on the web.

Our mission is to bring the joys of smoking this superb smooth quality cigar to a new and wider group of participants worldwide and satisfy the demand for our cigars amongst our happy and ever loyal friends and customers.
